Marching Towards a Green Future: ENSIGN INDUSTRY's GHG Emission Reduction Targets Approved by SBTi, Contributing to Global Climate Goals Through Science-Based Actions

SHANDONG ENSIGN INDUSTRY CO., LTD. has officially passed the near-term target validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), becoming the first enterprise in China's citric acid industry to obtain this certification. This achievement is not only an internationally authoritative recognition of ENSIGN INDUSTRY 's determination and practices in low-carbon transition, but also marks a milestone step for the company on the path of implementing science-based carbon reduction and responding to global climate action.

ENSIGN INDUSTRY 's SBTi near-term targets are as follows: By the target year 2030, the absolute greenhouse gas emissions from Scope 1 and Scope 2 will be reduced by 42% compared with the base year 2022; by the target year 2030, the greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services, as well as waste generated from operations under Scope 3 per ton of product produced will be reduced by 51.6% compared with the base year 2022. 

SBTi is a globally authoritative initiative jointly launched by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It aims to provide unified standards, professional guidance and independent certification for enterprises to set emission reduction targets aligned with climate science, serving as a critical benchmark and action guide for global enterprises to pursue green low-carbon and sustainable development.
